Stayed away from the chaos in the bay this weekend and fished outside. It was tough going Saturday, we had a slow pick of shorts landing 30 or so. We did managed 1 keeper though, a nice fat 18 1/4 inch fluke in the crab pots when we checked them.
Sunday we fared a little better. Fished the same area and weeded 4 keeper fluke out of the 60 or so shorts. We also landed a mess of cocktail blues. _________________ Capt. Bill

Had a tough day Saturday running all over the ocean looking for fish. Hit all my usual spots and NADA. Finally ended up at the reef and picked 1 4- pound keeper.
Sunday I opted to stay close to home and save fuel. Fished the back side of the inlet and had drop and reel fishing. Too bad they were mostly short. Ended the day with 38 with 1 keeper. Should of been 2, but my assistant and a mental block when I called for the net. _________________ Capt. Bill

Headed out yesterday to pick up where I had left off 2 weeks ago. Set up at the Range Buoy and had a nice north to south drift. The drift was fast so I had to put my standard fluke rods away and get the big sticks out. While doing so I put one of my rods out with a ton of line. While rooting around in the cabin the rod bends over. I reel up my first fish rebait and drop in. I started rigging up the big stick and the rod goes down again. Another fish, drop back down and the scene continues for the entire drift. It took me 2 full drifts to get a second line out. I fianlly manged to get 2 lines in a I pickup a keeper. Than out of nowhere the wind shifted from the east an the ocean turned on me. Seas went from 3-4's of 8 footers in about 10 minutes. That was enough for me amd I made the dash for home. Ended the day with 15 fluke, 1 keeper, and a couple of Blues. _________________ Capt. Bill
